ROUTER Router is a device which connect two or more networks together, which is why router is also known is Inter-networking device also. Hello friends... next Networking Device is Switch. Switch It is the device that connects the multiple devices and network segments, it is also known as Multi-port Network bridge. means in bridge there were only two ports but here there are many ports behaving like bridge. It works on Layer 2 of the OSI Model. But today you can got the switches which works on Layer 3 or Network Layer , these switches are known as layer 3 switch or Multilayer switch. Switch receive the data on it's own port in form of frames and transmit it to that device for which this particular data is. It is not like a HUB because if HUB receive data so it will forward to all ports but switch is very intelligent device , it send data to only right single destination. Today in every Network switch is most important device. Working of Switch - Switch creates a Separate collision domain for each switch port. it just like a bridge but bridge can divide network into only two collision domain while

Network Bridge  Network Bridge is a device which is used to get connect multiple network segments. And it is capable to filter data traffic on the base of MAC(Media Access Control) address. This device works on Layer 2 of OSI Model. The Main function of Bridge is to reduce the amount of data traffic in the network by the dividing of LAN into multiple segments. WHY Network Bridge was needed ?  Look at above picture ,  suppose there is a Local area network and using bus topology or Ethernet devices are connected with it.  now look in picture there are 8 computers .  suppose if computer 1 is want to communicate or transfer data computer 4, so he will send data but problem was that , all remaining computer get the same data , number 4 computer will receive data and all computer would drop the data so it would create a unwanted data traffic and it may cause a slo

hello friends , Today we will discuss about the second Networking Devices Ethernet HUB. HUB Hub is a centralize device via all devices (computers, printers etc.) are connected with the star topology.  Hub connects other multiple devices together and helps to make connectivity mutually so that they can share and transfer data to each and every devices which is connected to that hub.  Hub does work at the first layer means at Physical layer of the OSI Model.
