Part 20- How to give IP address to Switch (Switch Configuration)- Computer Networking- CCNA

Hello friends.... i am Vasu Birla .. and today i am starting a new Segment that is Switch Configration so in this part we will know that how can we assign an IP addresses to switches... so Let’s start......

How to Give IP address to Cisco Switch

As we know that switch does work on layer 2 means Data link layer of the OSI model than how we actually need to assign the ip address in switches so answer is if you want to perform any management task like if you want to access that switch remotly from anywhere and want to configure or want to update something so for these tasks you need a IP address so lets understatnd it with pics.

1.  first of all we must have a Cisco Switch and some PCs.  so suppose we have a one switch but make sure nothing should be connected first of all.

Nothing should be connected before switch connected to Power

2. now connect the Switch to the electricity power.

3.  Press and hold the mode button/power button  Until all the LEDs would becocome Green.

4. Now connect the two PCs to the switch with the help of Ethernet cable which have RJ 45 connecter at both ends.

5. Now we will know about the commands for assigning IP address to switch and PC

for Pc 1 go to Network and sharing center and open TCP/IP suit and than go to properties of it and assign the IP address manually  for example 192.168.1.100 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0    and same as give IP address to PC2 192.168.1.101.

Now Give Ip address to Switch

6. For the first time giving IP address to switch we have to connect switch to the PC with the help of Console cable.

After connection of switch with console cable you can use the Hyper Terminal Software on PC for interaction to switch.

now in the Hyper terminal Software you can find the interaction window of Switch it looks like below picture

now Go to enable mode

Switch>en
Switch#

 now go to configuration mode

Switch#conf t
Switch(config)#
Switch(config)#

now commands for assigning ip address ,,,  before giving ip address we do have to set the interface on which we wants IP address ,  lets understand with commands - here interface is Vlan be

Switch>en
Switch#
Switch#conf t
Switch(config)#
Switch(config)#in vlan 1
Switch(config)#ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0
Switch(config)#no shut

now for checking that ip address  run command

Switch(config)#do show ip in br

7. now Go to pc

Go to command promt

and ping the ip of swich

Ping 192.168.1.2    if it ping successfully  than understand IP address for switch configured successfully.

NOTE-  Only pictures are taken from the internet, except it everything is my own theory and knowledge in very simple English language.

Thanks

Part 15- What is Repeater (Networking Devices)- Computer Networking- CCNA

Repeater  hello friends i am Vasu Birla and today i am starting new segment of CCNA computer networking  its a Networking Devices. we will discuss every important Devices used in networks. Repeater is a first networking devices. What is Repeater  Repeater is a device that receives signals and re-transmits by amplifying or regenerating signals. Repeater has two port one is for receive signals from previous network and second port is for retransmit signals to the next extended network. Two Port Repeater Repeater is a device which is used to Regenerate or replicate signal (Pichhe se aa rahe signal ko regenerate karke ya amplify karke aage strong signals bhej sakte he) Analog and digital both type of signals can be retransmitted by repeater. Here there is difference between regeneration and amplifying.  Amplification means , received signals will be amplified as it is , whether there are impurities in signals  and Regeneration means repeate...

How to Kill the Process: ( Port Process )

If you are seeing a Error like  -   Error: listen EADDRINUSE: address already in use :::3000   then you can easily kill it by running these commands  Find the Process Using Port 3006 : On Windows   netstat -ano | findstr :3000 On Linux/macOS lsof -i :3000       Terminate the Process :       On Windows taskkill /PID <PID> /F    means       taskkill /PID 17780 /F On Linux/macOS kill -9 <PID>     means kill -9 17780                ==============END ==========

GitHub Repo Collaboration Work on single project

=============================================== To collaborate effectively with your friend on the same project, you should use Git branches to manage different lines of development. Here's a step-by-step procedure you can follow to streamline collaboration: 1. Create Separate Branches for Each Developer Create a New Branch for Your Friend: On your local repository, create a new branch for your friend. For example if your friend name is kilvish , if you want to create a branch named kilvish , you would run: make sure you would be on main branch already   command->  git checkout -b kilvish git push origin kilvish 2. Set Up Your Friend’s Environment( On your Friend's System )  at kilvish side  run ->  Clone the Repository (if not already done): If your friend hasn’t cloned the repository yet, they should do so: command ->  git clone https://github.com/Vasu-Birla/your-repo.git   // your your main clone line  Fetch All Bran...
